Our Pastor

Pastor Smith was led to the Lord by his father at the age of 5. At the age of 12 his family moved to Trinity Baptist Church in Brisbane, because of the liberal doctrine that was being taught at the previous churches they had been attending. He was baptised and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church in 1990 and served faithfully there as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, and music director for many years.

Pastor Smith studied Medicine at the University of Queensland and became a medical doctor with the RAAF in 2001, seeing active service in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring from the service in 2008. At that time Pastor Smith started to see the
far greater need people had for their eternal health and surrendered to the ministry and was trained as a pastor at his local church.

In 2015 Trinity Baptist Church heard the call of the Holy Spirit, and Pastor Smith was chosen, ordained into the ministry, and sent to Kyogle, NSW, to commence a mission work there in that town. Pastor Smith was voted in as the first pastor of Kyogle Bible Baptist Church at it’s inaugural service on 14th April 2019 and remains as pastor today.

Pastor Smith is married to Jo and God has blessed them with 3 children.
